In de tijd dat ik interesse kreeg voor acapella zingen en zelf ook in een koor zong, zocht ik overal en nergens naar voorbeelden om ter inspiratie naar te luisteren. De meest bijzondere & originele groep die ik vond was het Amerikaanse kwartet The Bobs. En hun lied Through The Wall was het meest waanzinnige & hilarische acapella lied dat ik ooit heb gehoord.

Het gaat over een man die klaagt over zijn buurvrouw, die zorgt voor geluidsoverlast, samen met haar vriend die pogingen doet saxofoon te spelen. The Bobs zingen het hier tijdens een optreden in 1984 en het komt van hun debuutalbum van een jaar eerder.

De oprichters van de groep Gunnar Madsen & Matthew Stull besloten een acapella groep op te richten in begin jaren 80, en te stoppen met hun werk als bezorgers van zingende telegrammen in San Francisco.
