Comes And Goes is één van mijn favoriete nummers van de Amerikaanse singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg (1951-2007), dat hij hier speelt tijdens een concert in 1976. Hij wordt erbij begeleid door zijn vrienden van de country-rock groep Fool’s Gold, die bestond uit Tom Kelly, Danny Henson, Doug Livingston & Ron Grinel. Het nummer komt van zijn derde album Captured Angel uit 1975. In dat jaar speelde hij in het voorprogramma van de toen zeer succesvolle country rockband de Eagles.

Fogelberg komt uit een muzikaal gezin met een klassiek geschoolde pianiste Margaret als moeder en vader Lawrence Peter die bandleider was op een high school. Op z’n 14e speelde hij in Beatles cover band The Clan en daarna in nog een cover band The Coachmen. Nadat hij ontdekt was werd hij naar Tennessee gestuurd om zich verder te ontwikkelen o.a. door middel van sessie werk.

Ik genoot altijd erg van zijn muziek en dan vooral van zijn albums uit de jaren 70: Home Free (1972), Souvenirs (1974), Captured Angel (1975), Netherlands (1977), Twin Songs of Different Mothers (met fluitist Tim Weisberg) en Phoenix (1979). Daarna ben ik hem uit het oog verloren, omdat hij meer op de country tour ging.
